What Would You Do If You Knew You Could Not Fail?

What would you do if you knew you could not fail?  This is a very interesting question.  Remove the fear of failure and you begin to see life is full of possibilities.  Living your dream without a moment of hesitation.

Three simple questions for you...

1. If you knew you could not fail and everyone in your life held no judgment, and wholeheartedly supported you ..what would you do?

2. Are you doing it?

3. If not....WHY?

If your not doing something you desire because you're afraid of failing or being judged.....how do you feel?  Would it feel better to live in your life actively participating in your dreams or living in a place of fear waiting for someone else to give you permission or not?

Fear can come in all different forms: Your own voice and the voice of others.

Own Voice:

"Get real, you can't do that!"

"What if it doesn't work out?"

"I am too old"

"I am not smart enough"

"I am too fat"

" Oh, I really don't think I want to do it"

Voice of others:

"Why do you want to do that?"

"Your life is fine the way it is"

"Are you going through a mid-life crisis?"

"What will your mother think?"

"You will never make enough money doing that"

If you are experiencing a yearning for the incompleteness in your life to go away it's time to ask yourself, "What would I do if I knew I could not fail?"

What are you waiting for and why are you not doing it?

Much Joy,

Create a New Thought

Thoughts do create our reality.  A negative thought is about the past not the present moment. I call it recycled thoughts.  It is the thought/s about our circumstances that creates the pain in our life, not the circumstance.

Believing a negative thought that is causing you pain creates suffering.  We suffer because of our own thinking. And, the thoughts we believe to be true.

Are  you ready to be free from suffering and learn to love what is?

Question your most painful thoughts. Those thoughts are your source of pain and nothing else.  It is because of your thoughts you are suffering.  Free yourself from suffering and create a new thought about your current circumstance.

What thought (negative) are you attached to this moment?

I am too fat
I don't have enough money
He/She/They never appreciate me
I am to old
My job is making me nuts
I am not smart enough
I am not good enough
I always end up with the wrong partner
I am not successful
If I was only thinner, more beautiful, more successful, lived in a better home, people would accept me.
If I only went to that school or took that job
I should of (fill in the blank)
I need to  (fill in the blank)
If this never happened
I don't fit in
I am not respected
If he/she would love me
I could never do that

Do any of these thoughts resonate with you or do you come up with other negative thought/s?

When you think this thought how do you feel and act?

Do feel bad, sad, hopeless, discourage, do you become angry, do you engage in self defeating acts like eating a box of chocolates, mistreating your partner, being rude to others etc?

Who would you be without this thought (the source of pain)?

Would you feel happier and have more energy without the negative thought?

We have the power to think whatever thought we want.  Go through your list of negative thoughts and see if you can replace each negative with a positive thought . Create a better feeling thought that better serves who you are today in the PRESENT moment.

Create a new thought a better feeling thought!  And, set yourself free....

Discovery a new thought that feel goods and attach to it, believe it to be true.  Let the new thought become your current reality!

Much Love,

Karen

Follow Your Bliss

Are you wanting to create change in your life and dream of wanting to follow your bliss?  Below are some helpful suggestions to spark your fire and get you moving in the right direction.

1. Follow your Bliss - What are you passionate about?  What do you love to do?  Make a list and write down what you enjoy doing, what excites and energizes you.  If you are unsure recall a time in your life when you felt happy.  What were you doing than? Write it down.

2. Dream Big - Do you want to travel to Paris or perhaps live in Paris?  Do you want to be the artist you have always dreamed of and have a art studio in the city you love?  Putting your dreams on paper is the first step in making your dream a reality.  Do not worry about the how, why or what if.

3. List your Obstacles - Make a list of your obstacles to identify what they are . And, than you can start to develop tools to remove the obstacles.

4. Act as If - ACT AS IF YOU you are already living the life you desire.  Close your eyes and visualize it.  Can you see yourself?  How good do you feel?  Where are you?  What does your house look like?  Who is in your life?  What do you see?  Start to act as if your already in your bliss.  Get used to how good it feels.  Practice ACTING AS IF daily.

5. Create Thoughts that Support Your Bliss - Put your focus on what you want.  Support yourself by thinking positive about you and all the possibilites available to you.  Do not get caught up with negative thinking it is non-productive and will keep you stuck in the life you don't want.

6. Surround Yourself with Your Greatest Fans - Let only the people who completely love and support you know of your dreams and desires. Allow people who encourage you to do just that and celebrate every success along the way.

7.  Ask yourself, "if not now, when?" - Once you start moving towards your goals and dreams you will be happier.  Having a plan in place and taking turtle steps will increase your energy and zest for life.  If you wait until next year you will hear yourself say "why didn't I do this sooner" or "I wish I started something last year."  Once you step onto your path, you will soon see your destination getting closer. If the turtle can cross the road so can't YOU!

True Richness

It is true that our financial well being is closely linked to our emotional well being. I ask you, what is your emotional temperature and how do you reflect this in managing your money? What are your thoughts and actions around money? Ones self worth is what creates their financial net worth. What we feel on the inside is reflected in our spending habits, and how we manage our money reflects exactly how we feel on the inside. This is the truth pure and simple.

Here are some questions for you to check in with your Financial well being:

1. I know I should do this with my money instead of buying this. But you go ahead and buy it anyway?

2. Do you participate in "Retail Therapy" does the instant gratification of "shopping" really help you heal your emotional pain? The truth is this, overspending and shopping to fill a emotional void is just keeping you bankrupt at both the emotional and financial level.

3. Are you neglecting to open your bills when they arrive in the mail? Do you have a stack of unopened mail?

4. Is your pocket book and wallet a complete train wreck, money, receipts everywhere? Do you know where your bank card is, your checkbook is?

3. Are you paying your credit card balance down telling yourself that you want to pay the balance off, but always seem to find yourself racking up the balance again?

4 Do you know how much money you actually have? Do you know how much money you owe? Do you know where you are spending your money?

5. Are you truthful about your financial purchases? Do you purchase things and hide them from others? Tell others "oh I've had it forever" or better try to justify your purchases.

6. Do you feel so empty inside that you spend to complete the void that is within?

7. Do you just feel like you will never have enough?

8. Does your financial state of being just stink and you desire it to be different and better?

If you have answered yes to any of these questions than the time in NOW to face your truth. This is the gift of life at every second we have the opportunity to make new choices and align our thoughts and actions up with our desires. Richness start with your thoughts and creates richness in your own soul and in your financial well being.

My sense is that you are longing for a new way and a different relationship with money. Please join me for a interactive tele conference call starting Monday April 28, 2008 7:00 EST this will run for 4 weeks. The cost is $80.00 for all four weeks and the class will cover the following:

Snow Angels Galore!

It is March 1st  in Portland, Maine and we are having a snow storm today. There is so much snow everywhere! I have heard much talk from people this week about being completely tired of the snow and cold. " Not another snow storm,it's so depressing!". It is true, the weather plays a part to our emotional well being. And,  it is also true that the thoughts we have  about our current state of  being plays a larger part to our well being.

It is easy for the mind to find the negative in the current situation, especially if we're not all that thrilled about it.  When we go to the place of focusing on what we don't like, being sick and tired of the weather or whatever the circumstance is. We  lower our energetic vibration. When this happens we become a magnet ready to attract the negative in all different shapes and forms. Are thoughts create our reality weather it is snowing or not. Our thoughts can leave us feeling miserable, or feeling oh so GREAT!

As a women who completely LOVES the HEAT and SUNSHINE I would take the warmth any day over the snow, and cold. Today,  I'm in a complete state of happiness watching the snow fall and pile up some more. How can this be you may ask? Everything we receive in life can be a gift it is our choice.

Here's what I suggest in finding the gift of a snow storm and finding happiness in whatever environment you may be in.

1. MAKE SNOW ANGELS!!! - having fun will increase your energetic vibe and create "feel good" feelings.

2. TRY SOMETHING NEW -  Ice skating, sledding, cross country skiing, make a different kind of hot chocolate, rent a movie  or, start reading the book you've been meaning to, schedule a massage, go to HOT Yoga,  cook a new recipe or your favorite!

3. REPLENISH YOURSELF - use the snow storm to slow down and replenish yourself. Stay in your pajama's the entire day, drink warm soothing tea, close your eye's and mediate to the feeling of "feeling good". Totally immerse yourself in this feeling, you'll feel so much better.

4. Get those stacked up pictures and make a new photo album, clean out the closet, recycle your wardrobe, make a scrap book with your kids,  play a game with your family, go the gym and move your body.

Think like a snow angel, create the fun and excitement and turn around the winter doldrums thoughts.  You, my friend will feel so much better.

Cheers to the snow!

Year End Inventory!

Where has the year 2007 gone?  In just about 11 days we will be celebrating the year 2008!  This is a ideal time for reflection of 2007 and taking a personal inventory. Before going into 2008, it is important to take time to acknowledge the accomplishments and the lessons learned in 2007, and create a new vision for ourselves for the New Year.  All too often we spend time saying "Here goes another year and I didn't meet my goal/s, I should have done this or that."  We questioned what is wrong with ourselves because we never do or finish what we said we were going to do for the year. Than we quickly feel like a failure.  I say "give yourself permission to look all that you have done instead of what you haven't done."

I live by these words: Look at what I have accomplished!  I am a Martha Beck trained and certified Life Coach personally selected by her.  Martha Beck is the Life Coach to the Oprah show, contributer to the O magazine and New York Times Best Selling Author.  I dreamed of being able to say those words about myself since the 2004.  At that time,  a neighbor told me I must train with Martha Beck, as she gave me her book Finding Your Own North Star.  She said,"Karen" this is you - a Life Coach!  As interesting as it seemed, and that I did connect to the truth in her statement.  Actually,  I dreamed of it all the time, and had a knowing it was going to happen, know matter what, it was my destiny.

The process of obtaining my goal wasn't that simple. There was a few details about applying for the intense program, the cost , the time of the training, having to take time off from my work to attend the training, the pre work and certification process.  Being a working single parent.  Hummm..... I thought how can I make this happen?  Who is going to watch my child, where is the money gonna come from, how will I find the time to study?

On and on my mind was creating roadblocks.  But, in one moment I STOPPED and took a personal inventory.  I shut down the negative talk in my head, stopped looking at what wasn't happening in my life to get me to my goal, and stopped thinking about all the obstacles. And,  I just STOPPED!  Instead, I chose to focus on all that was present in me and my life. My desire to be a certified Life Coach was so strong I intuitively know I had to rid  myself of my own "stinkin thinkin".  I have always been a positive person but, the negative talk I created in my head was at a unconscious level. And, it certainly wasn't going to help me.  I knew my thoughts needed to shift to serve me and get my on course with my goal.

I did apply, get accepted and obtain my certification.  How did it happen you ask?  No, I didn't win the lottery or hire a nanny. I decided to become AWARE of my thoughts.  And, start looking at what I had created, learned and done in my life.  That's it!  I had to work hard at keeping my thoughts on this new pattern of thinking.  I had no idea how the minor details were going to work themselves out. I just knew I had a choice to make. If it was going to happen. I needed to BELIEVE it would and toss the self destructive thoughts quickly out the window.

Sure enough, everything I needed showed up in my life and I did it!  No, it was not a piece a cake, but I stayed true to my new way of thinking.  And, than all the resources appeared in my life.  Off I was flying to Scottsdale for the Martha Beck training!  Wow hoo!

So, in this season of reflection, here are some helpful tips on taking your own New Year Inventory.  These have proved successful as I have worked with my clients. First,  start to change your thoughts today.  Instead, of looking at what you didn't get done, look at what you did get done.    Perhaps, you have accomplished a lot over 2007.  It would be great to focus your energy on areas of success and take the focus off what you haven't done. What lessons have you learned? View life with a new perspective.  Start a personal inventory.  Here is a list that many of my clients have used to complete a personal inventory.

Spend some time refreshing your memory of 2007.  Gather together your journal, calendars, appointment books and photo's. Now grab a journal or notebook. Ask yourself and answer these questions:  What do you feel most proud of?  It can be as simple as giving up a cup of coffee per day to running a marathon. What actions have you done to increase your well being mental/physical? What was your happiest times/memories? What was your greatest challenge? What did you learn as a result of this challenge? How did you take a negative and turn it to a positive?  What is something you have been avoiding that could make your life would be better?

Now use this information to improve the quality of your life.  Here's how:  Choose one or two of your success and continue to grow on it for 2008.  (For example: you eliminated debt for 2007 and now you will create savings for 2008.) Choose a mistake, a negative thought or action that didn't serve you in 2007 and get support to remove the obstacle. (For example: Obtain guidance in completing your updated resume to finally move on from a dead end job.) Write a affirmation that you believe in you and all the possibilities of 2008. Write the names of people who are your fans, who love and support you.  And, lastly tell yourself YOU WILL!

Ask a friend to join you in this activity and create support for 2008.  Enjoy this activity and have fun. You will be so glad you did!

Happy December 1st.!

Happy December 1st.! There is 30 more days left in the year 2007. How exciting! I encourage you to start to visualize the year 2008. What does it look like? What are you doing? Are you living the life you want? Do you have the balance in your life you desire? Do you feel light and full of energy? Do you have a sense that "something" is missing in your life but, your not sure what it is? Do you have a desire to explore all the possibilites? Are you telling yourself I'll do it in the New Year? Do you feel as though what you truly desire will never happen because you are not young enough, not smart enough, don't have enough money, have a family with to many responsibiltes?

I get so excitied about the New Year that I actually have celebrated New Year's a week or two earlier than Dec 31/Jan1. I discovered this with a friend a few years back. We celebrated and started our New Year 2006 the week before Christmas in 2005. What compelled us do so? Why wait for the New Year to start making our dreams come true and embrace our desires. We had a BLAST, we rung in the New Year an entire week earlier! On our New Year's day we went for a 10 mile run. At every mile we each took turns to talk about what we wanted to let go of and leave behing for that year. And, what we were going to set our intentions and actions on for the year to come. It was so ENERGIZING and FUN!

Be creative, have fun this month. Awaken 15 minutes earlier in the morning to set your new intentions, write them down and read it daily. Visualize the life you want and plan your course of action. You CAN do it and you'll be so glad you did!

Much Joy,

Karen

Connect Yourself with the Bliss of Love!

The bliss of love is abundant, joyful, respectful, honest, free, adventerous, calming, exciting, euphoric, inspiring, very fun and beautiful. I encourage you today, to reconnect with all that you love. Please write down 3-5 things that you love. Grab your journal or paper and WRITE! It can be simple as I love java, I love the warmth of the sunshine, I love the smell of the ocean, I love laughter, I love to move my body, I love the rain! Please do this for the next 5 days and notice how your energy shifts. Your attitude will be different and you will feel a sense of ease and lightness in your life!

Take time today connect with and refocus your energy on the love that is present in your life.. Yes, the bliss of love is available to every human being to give and receive. The bliss of love is contagious!

Experience of a Corn Maze.

I recently experienced a journey of a Corn Maze, on a beautiful, Indian summer day. How profound the Corn Maze is to life! I went there with my daughter, a friend and her two daughters. There were two types of mazes, one was on the small side, and the other was much larger. It was interesting to hear how people decided what maze to enter first. Our daughter's without a doubt set out for the larger maze.

My girlfriend and I decided to enjoy the sun, and to sit on a bench that was in view of the different exits of the maze. I watched the expressions on the people's faces when they came out. I saw expressions of joy, excitement and relief. Joy and excitement was because they did it! The expression of relief reflected uncertainity of how to navigate througth the maze and the end of confronting dead ends! After, oberservating this I noticed the people working there handing out maps for the maze. Some people took one before entering and others didn't.

The journey of the Corn Maze is to that of life! We can always choose a new direction. Even if we don't know were the path is going to lead, we can listen and let our senses guide us. If we run into a dead end just like in a corn maze, we always have the choice to turn around and move in a new direction toward our goal. True to life, when discovering the unknown, we may be challenged with what appears to be a dead end. In the corn maze we don't stop when we run into a dead end, we keep moving and listen to our internal compass. If we started a new adventure without a map perhaps, it is time not to give up, and thrown yet another dream away. Rather it is time to clarify, re-focus and create a map to get you there! Than follow the map and move in a new direction towards the end goal.

You always make it out of the corn maze! As you move through life if you get stuck think of this comparison and take a deep breathe. You may not be able to see but, the exit is right in front of you! Aaah!

Much Joy! Karen
